Chet Baker

Chet Baker (1929–1988) was an American jazz trumpeter and vocalist known for his contributions to cool jazz, earning the nickname "Prince of Cool." He achieved significant acclaim in the 1950s with albums like "Chet Baker Sings," showcasing his smooth vocal style and unique trumpet playing. Despite struggles with drug addiction and personal turmoil, Baker experienced a resurgence in the late 1970s and 1980s, performing extensively in Europe and producing a prolific body of work. His life ended tragically in Amsterdam, where he died from injuries sustained in a fall, with drugs found in his system at the time of his passing.
