Mose AllisonMose Allison (1927-2016) was an influential American jazz and blues pianist, singer, and songwriter known for his unique blend of blues and modern jazz. After relocating to New York in 1956, he gained recognition for his distinctive songwriting and performances with notable jazz musicians. Over his six-decade career, he produced numerous albums and composed about 150 songs, many of which were covered by famous artists such as The Who and The Clash. His influence extended beyond jazz, impacting rock and blues genres and earning him accolades including induction into the Long Island Music Hall of Fame and the NEA Jazzmasters Award.
