Pat Suzuki

Pat Suzuki, born Chiyoko Suzuki on September 22, 1930, is an acclaimed American singer and actress recognized for her role as Linda Low in the original Broadway production of Flower Drum Song (1958) and her iconic performance of "I Enjoy Being a Girl." A Nisei, Suzuki's family was interned during World War II, which influenced her early life. She gained recognition in the 1950s, becoming a celebrated nightclub performer and winning awards for her music, including a Grammy nomination. While she stepped back from show business after marrying in 1960, she continued to perform intermittently and has supported Asian American civil rights initiatives.
