Butterfield Paul Blues BandPaul Butterfield (1942-1987) was an influential American blues harmonica player, singer, and bandleader known for his work in the mid-20th century. He founded the Paul Butterfield Blues Band in 1963, which combined electric Chicago blues with rock elements and was one of the first racially integrated blues groups. The band gained prominence through performances at major festivals like Woodstock and the Monterey Pop Festival, producing notable albums such as "East-West." After the band disbanded, Butterfield continued to perform and record with various artists, including Muddy Waters.
