Cannonball Adderley

Cannonball Adderley (1928–1975) was a prominent American jazz alto saxophonist known for his contributions to the hard bop and soul jazz genres during the 1950s and 1960s. He gained significant recognition for his hit "Mercy, Mercy, Mercy" and collaborated with notable musicians, including Miles Davis on seminal albums like "Kind of Blue." Adderley was also an influential bandleader and educator, leaving a lasting legacy through his extensive discography and mentorship of emerging jazz artists before his death at age 46.
