Al Martino

Al Martino, born Jasper Cini in 1927, was an American traditional pop singer and actor recognized for his significant contributions to music between the early 1950s and mid-1970s. He gained fame with hits like "Here in My Heart" and "I Love You Because," while also becoming notable for his role as Johnny Fontane in "The Godfather." His career began post-World War II, and he faced challenges from organized crime, which impacted his early successes. Martino continued to perform and record until his death in 2009, and he was inducted into the Hit Parade Hall of Fame the same year.
