Lorez Alexandria

Lorez Alexandria, born Dolorez Alexandria Turner on August 14, 1929, was an American jazz singer known for her unique vocal style and storytelling ability. Active primarily from the 1950s to the 1990s, she gained recognition for her recordings with several labels, including King and Impulse!, and was often compared to iconic jazz vocalists like Dinah Washington and Ella Fitzgerald. After establishing her career in Chicago, she moved to Los Angeles in the mid-1960s, where she performed extensively and later released several albums. Alexandria died on May 22, 2001, and is remembered as one of the most underrated jazz vocalists of her time.
